(Millennia ago, the Wyldness has been ravaged and destroyed by the Forbidden Five. In front of the Shadow Dojo, Rox is forging a Wolf Mask. She senses her brother, who turns out to be Nokt, and sets the Wolf Mask down.)
Past Rox: Ah, brother. Back sooner than expected. How went the South?
Past Nokt: How do you think it went? Everything below the Jagged Divide has either submitted to the Army of the Five or was razed to the ground by the power of Shatterspin. But don't take my word for it.
(Nokt shows Rox a tiger he captured from the South.)
Past Rox: Huh! Who is this pathetic beast?
Past Nokt: A souvenir I collected on my travels. Believe it or not, there's a tribe down there who considers this to be a great champion. (To the tiger) Speak, wretch. Tell them of my glory. Of our glory.
Past Zarkar: (Grunts.) How could you? The evil you've done to my people!
(The Forbidden Five laugh at him. Rox commands the Wolf Mask Warriors to release Zarkar. She approaches Zarkar.)
Past Rox: Listen, whelp. What you call evil we know as strength. And what was done to your people, done across the Wyldness, will soon be done to every realm of Creation.
(Zarkar lowers his head in defeat.)
Past Nokt: (To the other three) Prepare, my fellow conquerers. Soon we walk the realms.
(They get interrupted by a roar in the distance.)
Past Rox: Something's coming from the East.
(The Forbidden Five see Egalt and Rontu flying towards them. Egalt shoots a ball of ice as he flies closer towards the Five.)
(In present day at the City of Temples, Ras is training himself while Nokt watches. Rox, still possessing Jordana, approaches him.)
Rox: Don't worry, my brother. It will not be long now.
Nokt: He must be crushed.
Rox: Oh, he will be. Just as his ancestors once were. And the long-delayed plans of the Forbidden Five will finally unfold.
(Bleckt is walking through the streets of the city. He stops and sees a brick coming from above. Wyldfyre swoops in and saves him.)
Wyldfyre: Look out!
(Wyldfyre offers to help Bleckt up, but he brushes her aside.)
Bleckt: (Grunts.) I don't care if I'm being jostled about like a sack of beets. (Looks over at the brick.) But I really don't care if I'm getting crushed, so, uh, thank you for your timely intervention, young lady.
Wyldfyre: You know us ninja. We're all about helping others... (She gives Bleckt his book back, who snatches it from her hand.) ...is what they keep telling me.
Bleckt: I wonder what could've caused that brick to fall like that.
Wyldfyre: Meh, sometimes bricks fall. Probably no one set that up as a prank or anything... (She stops herself after realizing what she said.) Heh hey, I bet an important guy like you has major urgent stuff to do, huh?
Bleckt: Yes, my duties are quite indispensable. I better get on with them.
(Bleckt walks away. Wyldfyre reveals to be hiding a book behind her back.)
Wyldfyre: Ha! Switched to the fake and that old grump never even noticed. The "being crushed by brick" prank works again! The Lava-Tides used to love it, and I rarely ever decimated their entire village. (She opens the book and looks inside.) There's gotta be some clue to Bleckt's crimes in here— (Gasps.) Huh? What language is this? (She turns the book every way.) It's gibberish! (She falls down.)
(Cole and Arin are in front of the Monastery of Gates with Sprite.)
Cole: Master Wu? Is it... is it really you?
(Sprite nods and heads into the monastery. Cole and Arin follow him inside.)
Cole: Master Wu, where'd you go?
Arin: Cole, look!
(The two of them look at the Portal gates within the monastery.)
Cole: More Portal gates?
Arin: Is that the Cloud Kingdom? Guess we know where that gate goes.
Cole: That looks like Mysterium. And there's the Land of Lost Things.
Arin: And Ninjago, our home.
Cole: ...fourteen, fifteen, sixteen. Huh, one gate for each of the realms?
Master Wu: Yes.
(Cole and Arin gasp and look behind to see Sprite float down.)
Cole: Master Wu? It's really you, isn't it?
Master Wu: Yes.
Cole: We've missed you so much! What happened to you in the Merge? Are you- are you departed?
Arin: And why are you suddenly appearing now?!
Master Wu: Horns. (Sprite looks up to the roof of the monastery.)
Arin: Horns? He doesn't mean...
Cole: (Points to the roof with a flashlight from his mech, revealing the Arc Dragons' Crowns of Horns.) He does.
Arin: The crowns of the murdered dragons! (to Sprite) Wait, Master Wu! Ras told me you caused the Merge. Did you?
Cole: Arin, Ras is a liar. There's no way Master Wu would ever-
Arin: I need to know! Did you cause the Merge?
Wu: Yes.
Cole: Huh? (Suddenly Sprite flashes brightly and separates into four small orbs again. The orbs fly into the Portal Gates and disappear.) That- that can't be right.
Arin: Everything I thought I knew... it's all wrong.
(In the Games Plaza, Lloyd and Zane are training Sora.)
Sora: Okay. I'm trying for twice as far this time. And- Poof! (She disappears into a cloud of smoke and start coughing.) How does Cinder live like this?
Zane: Hydration recommended. (He hands Sora a water bottle, which she takes and drinks from.)
Sora: (coughs) Thanks, Zane. So, did I get twice as far?
Zane: You actually appear to have gone slightly backwards.
Sora: Argh! That jerk Cinder made it look so easy, but nothing's working! I can't Quake like Frak, or use elemental Reflex like Zur. I have their powers, why can't I be like any of them?
Lloyd: I think that's the problem, Sora. You're trying to be like them.
Sora: Uh, yeah! What else can I do?
Lloyd: You can be you.
Sora: (scoffs) Being me isn't great right now. My best friend hates me. My Spinjitzu still won't spin-jitz. And an evil loser from ancient times is about to trash me in front of a live audience.
Lloyd: Sora, I've seen you do things no one else could ever do. Stop trying to use elemental powers the way everyone else did. Think of how only Sora would use them.
Sora: And how's that?
Lloyd: I don't know. But I look forward to finding out.
Zane: I think the time for coaching is over.
(The trio look over to the Wolf Clan, and see Ras, Cinder and Nokt walk away, while Nokt's sister stays behind.)
Sora: Be right back. There's someone I need to talk to. (to "Jordana") I got your note.
Nokt's Sister: What note?
Sora: Look, I don't understand what's going on with you, Jordana, but I want to tell you, I'm sorry. I didn't remember you from when we were in school together. I know that upset you and made you feel unimportant. Me and my friend Arin have been- I- I just- I wish I hadn't been so wrapped up in my own stuff. I wish I'd remembered you. School was a really lonely time in my life, and I could have used a friend. Maybe we both could have. So, I'm sorry.
Nokt's Sister: (scoffs) Pathetic. (She walks away.)
(Wyldfyre is walking through Foundation Street, trying to read Bleckt's book.)
Wyldfyre: What is this? Clown language?! Ugh! (She tosses the book to the ground in frustration.)
(Zur, who happens to be nearby, looks at the book and picks it up.)
Zur: This language is Devonian, like me.
Wyldfyre: Master Zur? Wait, you can talk?
Zur: Of course. Why would you think otherwise?
Wyldfyre: I've never heard you say anything. Just grunts and harsh looks. Plus, I'd expect your voice to sound more... I don't know, evil-ish?
Zur: My kind are extremely shy. But because of our appearance, there are those who make false assumptions and spread rumors about us. Devonians are renowned for our kindness, actually.
Wyldfyre: So, you can actually read this?
Zur: Yes, it is an ancient form of my language, from the early days of our history. It must still be used here in the City of Temples. I can help you translate this book, if you would like. (Wyldfyre smiles in response.)
(In the Games Plaza, the final match is about to start. Roby is on a floating platform with his phone on a selfie stick.)
Roby: Ah. Today's just another normal day, I guess? Wrong! Today is the most important day in the history of all time and forever! The final championship of the greatest Tournament ever games-mastered!
(The crowd erupts into cheers, and four fireworks explode behind Roby. He floats past the crowd, while Bleckt opens the top of his cane to reveal three differently-colored buttons. He presses one of them to shine a spotlight on Sora standing on one side of the arena with Lloyd and Zane watching behind her.)
Roby: In this corner, Sora, coached by her ninja teacher, Master Lloyd Garmadom! (The crowd cheers for Sora. Bleckt presses the yellow button, and another spotlight lights up.) And in this corner, Nokt, coached by his commander, Lord Ras of the Wyldness. (Nokt looks disgustetly at Ras before putting his mask on.) With this final match, the Tournament will end just like it started: One-on-one combat! Last one standing wins it all!
(Nokt lightly touches the control implant on the back of his head.)
Sora: Time to go "be myself," (She puts on her mask.) or whatever.
Roby: Let the game begin!
(Sora starts running towards Nokt.)
Sora: (She does three short spinning hops, and manages to create a rudimentary Spinjitzu tornado.) Ah!
(Nokt jumps up and effortlessly kicks Sora away. She lands on the edge of the arena and the crowd gasps.)
Nokt: I have no idea how you even made it this far, girl. But I promise you, you've never faced anyone like me.
Sora: (gets up) I faced parents like you. I faced a whole realm like you.
Nokt: (yawns) Is your sob story over yet? (He stomps on the ground thrice to activate his Shatterspin.)
Roby: Straight for the Shatterspin, folks! Looks like this match might end before it really gets started.
(Nokt spins to create a red swirl ow energy around himself. He lauches a wave of this energy at Sora, who jumps over it and uses ice to create a barrier between herself and Nokt.)
Nokt: A little ice? Please. (He approaches the barrier.)
(Sora then uses Quake to make the barrier shake.)
Zane: I do not understand. Why is she combining Frak's quake power with my ice power?
(Afterwards, Sora uses reflex to rapidly hit the barrier at specific points.)
Lloyd: And now elemental reflex power? I don't know, but it looks like something no one else would try.
(Sora continues hitting the barrier. Nokt gets enough of waiting and jumps up, attacking the barrier with a wave of Shatterspin energy. The barrier vibrates more intensely and suddenly breaks, sending Nokt flying into the screen.)
Nokt: Aah!
Roby (on the screen): Whoa! Somehow, Sora created a barrier that vibrated exactly counter to Shatterspin. (in person) Can you believe how good my games are?
Ras: Finish this, you fool! throw everything else you've got at her!
(Nokt uses the power of wind and flies up into the air. He then fires a blast of life at Sora, who dodges by using smoke causing her to slightly cough. Nokt then trows a blast of water before landing and attacking with a lightning bolt. Sora once again dodges with smoke, and appears midair to attack Nokt with a beam of heat. Nokt blocks this attack with a beam of water, and jumps over an ice blast from Sora toward her before she uses the element of reflex to dodge him. Nokt then quikly zaps her with lightning, but Sora uses smoke to appear behind him and attack him with a kick before firing two blasts of heat at him.)
Roby: Power after power, blow after blow! Are you not entertained?! (The crowd cheers wildly.)
(Sora and Nokt continue exchanging blasts with each other, while Arin runs to Lloyd.)
Arin: Lloyd, we found them!
Lloyd: Found what?
Arin: The missing horns of the dead dragons. Cole and I found them.
Lloyd: Where?
Arin: They're in another monastery. Jordana gave us a message that led us to them.
Lloyd: Jordana? Does that prove Ras is behind all this?
Arin: I think so. We know he was meeting with Bleckt. But I don't know what he plans to do with the horns.
Lloyd: He's determined to get control of all the elemental powers in this game. He's gotta be planning to use the powers and the horns together to get to the Source Dragons. You and Zane, go back and get those horns out of there. Ras can't use 'em if he can't find them. I'll stay to coach Sora. She's gotta win this game.
Arin: There's something else. We saw the ghost of Master Wu in the monastery.
Lloyd: Huh?
Arin: He said he caused the Merge.
Lloyd: What? That- that's impossible.
Arin: Lloyd, it's true.
Lloyd: (He looks back at the game, where Sora gets kicked by Nokt using Shatterspin.) We can't let Ras win. Arin, Zane, get those horns out of there!
Arin: (He looks at Lloyd for a moment.) Come on, Zane. (He and Zane run away. He stops for a moment to look at Ras, who also looks at him.)
(Nokt falls to the ground before blocking Sora's heat attack with life, knocking her away and jumping after her.)
Nokt's Sister: Nokt should have won by now.
Ras: He cannot fail me.
(Sora jumps away from Nokt, and retaliates by firing a blast of heat at him. He jumps over it and fires a blast of life at Sora in close range, which she dodges. Nokt then fires a shockwave at her, but she turns into smoke to dodge it. She tries to appear behind Nokt, but Nokt kicks her away with Shatterspin energy.)
Sora: Ugh. (She falls to the ground.)
Nokt: There's nothing you can do that I can't do better, kid!
Lloyd: Sora! Remember, if you can't outfight him, outsmart him! (Nokt turns to look at him.)
Sora: (She looks up and notices Nokt's control device.) What's that thing? Probably not a fashion choice. (She uses her power of technology on the device, turning it into a mechanical bee.)
Nokt: You think you can defeat me with a bumblebee? (He tries to attack the bee, but it dodges his attack and stings him multiple times, causing him to fall to the ground.)
Roby: Looks like it's all over, folks! (The crowd cheers.)
(Sora jumps into the air with heat to land the final attack, but before she can hit Nokt, the arena tilts and he slides away from the attack.)
Sora: Wait, what?
Roby: Oh! Lucky for Nokt, the arena suddenly shifts in his favor! Expect the unexpected, folks! (to Bleckt) We didn't program the floor to move in the final match, did we?
Bleckt: Not sure. But isn't giving the crowd high drama what you want?
Roby: Well, yeah, I guess.
(The arena sets back down again, and both Sora and Nokt are still standing. Sora runs forward and uses technology to activate one of the floating platforns in the ground. Nokt uses wind to fly upwards. Sora tries to hit Nokt a couple times using heat, but he dodges all her attacks and hits her down from the platform with Shatterspin.)
Roby: Coming back from behind, Nokt hits Sora with Shatterspin before she can react! And with only one player left standing, this tournament has a new champion. Nokt is the winner! (The crowd cheers. Lloyd looks angrily at Ras. Ras and "Jordana" smile at him.)
(In Nether-Space, the remaining members of the Forbidden Five observe the conclusion to the tournament through the link created by Nokt's sister. They each give a single nod upon hearing about Nokt's victory. Kai and Bonzle try to use this opportunity to move locations without them knowing, but Kai steps on a rock, causing them to briefly stop their communication. Zarkt tries to look for the two, but they are able to hide from him under the platform the Forbidden Five are using to communicate with the other side. The Forbidden Five continue their communication.)
(Back in the Games Plaza, the victory ceremony is about to begin. Sora and Lloyd approach a platform with Ras, Nokt and Bleckt standing on it. Roby is on a floating platform holding the Elemental Cup.)
Lloyd: You were amazing out there. Better than me. Than nearly every elemental master ever.
Sora: But Ras is gonna have control of all the powers now.
Lloyd: Let's hope Arin and Zane manage to get those horns.
Roby: And so, for the final time in these games, I'll transfer powers with the Element Cup. Whoop-whoop! (He drains Sora's powers.) And now, the victory ceremony to declare a new Champion of the Sources! (The crowd cheers.)
Wyldfyre: Objection! (She stands at the arena with Zur. Nokt and Ras turn to look at her.)
Bleckt: What? You can't object to the victory ceremony. (scoffs) You clearly know nothing of the ancient rites!
Wyldfyre: Okay, then, "point of order"?
Bleckt: That's not a thing either!
Wyldfyre: Uh, "time out"?
Bleckt: No, no, no!
Wyldfyre: These games have been rigged! (The crowd gasps and starts muttering.)
Bleckt: Vile slander! How dare you impugn the honor of the age-old Tournament of the Sources! For shame!
Wyldfyre: I dare 'cause I've got your ledger! And I can read it, thanks to my new best bud, Zur!
Bleckt: What? The menu from the banquet?
Wyldfyre: The ol' swapped-with-a-menu prank! Classic! Bleckt here is such a stickler for ledgers, he kept detailed notes on everything about the games, including his own crimes. Like him conspiring with Ras! (The crowd gasps again. Ras and Nokt look at each other as Sora and Lloyd turn to look at them angrily before looking at Bleckt.) It's all here. Check it out! (She tosses the book to Roby, who begins reading it.)
(A flashback shows Bleckt with the three Attacker Bots. He hits the wall with the end of his cane, creating the marking on it. The Attacker Bots move out.)
Wyldfyre (narrating): Bleckt sent the attack bots to get rid of Ras' strongest competition... (The flashback shifts to one of the bots attacking a sleeping Lloyd.) us ninja and Zur. (Zur is seen throwing away the bot that attacked him.) He even sent a fake one (Ras can also be seen throwing a bot away.) against Ras to throw off suspicions. (Zane's fight with Zur is seen.) Bleckt's been rigging the games! (Zane's ice suddenly melts, and Zur moves away with reflex.) Nothing too obvious, (Nya tries to grab a holographic gem in her fight against Nokt, but it disappears and reappears near Nokt.) but always slightly in favor of Ras' team. (Bleckt is seen opening the top of his cane to light the spotlights in Sora and Nokt's match. When the match is about to conclude with Sora winning, Bleckt pushes one of the buttons to cause the arena to tilt, saving Nokt.)
Roby: It's true. It's all in here. He's the reason the ninja didn't get their invites in the first place. And Zeatrix was actually right, Uncle Bleckt was trying to sideline her. The honor of the games is like your whole thing, Uncle B. (Bleckt's hand starts shaking.) What would make you do something like this?
Bleckt: Because of you! You simpleton! You infantile half-wit! When my stupid brother put you in charge, I knew you'd ruin the games with all your zang-toot ideas! It was the only way to save the games from total ruin! Once I helped Ras win, he'd get rid of you. And then, I would be the new gamesmaster, and dignity would be restored!
Roby: First of all, it's "stang-zoot." Uncle Bleckt, you are mega, reverse, negative stang-zoot! (The crowd boos, Roby clears his throat.) In light of this, I declare the victory ceremony canceled. Security! (Two Security Bots fly in and grab Bleckt.)
Nokt: In light of that, I un-cancel it! (He stomps on the ground twice and jumps up, knocking Roby away with Shatterspin. When Roby lands, the Element Cup releases Sora's elements and they fly into Nokt, who yells before landing back down. Everyone gasps.)
(The ninja and Zur try to fight Nokt, but he quikly defeats them and blasts them away with shockwave while the two bots holding Bleckt flee from behind him. Roby tries to get up and use the Element Cup to drain Nokt, but he blasts the Cup away with heat before that can happen. Two more Security Bots appear to support Roby.)
Nokt: Finally, the powers I've always deserved!
Ras: Good. Time for the next phase of the plan.
Nokt: Actually, change of plans. I don't work for you anymore, Ras. (Ras tries to use a remote to activate the control collar, but it doesn't work.) There's many things I've come to hate about you. One of them is how clever you think you are. You put a technological control collar on me, then you sent me to fight the elemental master of technology?
Nokt's Sister: (She appears beside Nokt.) He is kind of slow on the uptake, isn't he, brother?
Ras: "Brother"? Rox of the Forbidden Five?
(Flashback to the Shadow Dojo during the Ritual of the Blood Moon, where Jordana is struggling to keep the portal open.)
Rox (narrating): Nokt's physical body escaped the Nether-Space that day. (Rox uses her magic to release her soul from the Nether-Space, after which it flies into Jordana.) But you never realized my soul escaped to the nearest form I could find.
Rox: Not the body I would have picked, but good enough for my brother and I to hunt some dragons.
(In another flashback, the Matriarch of the Mountain Dragons is sleeping when Nokt and Rox ambush her with Shatterspin. They knock her crown of horns off before finishing her with a simultaneous kick.)
Ras: Dragons?
Lloyd: Ras, you really didn't know?
Sora: Why did you kill those three dragons? They did nothing to you.
Nokt: For the crowns, of course. With enough Dragon Ivory, and a multitude of elemental powers... we don't need a Blood Moon ritual to bring back the rest of the Forbidden Five!
Ras: (He roars, and his sripes and hands turn red.) You'll do no such thing. (He takes out his hammer and summons the Wolf Mask Warriors. They enter the Games Plaza along with Cinder. One of them uses the Gong and Mallet of Shattering, causing them to transform into Wolf Mask Claw Warriors.) You will go with me to the Cauldron of Realms and complete my Master's will, or you will be crushed.
Rox: (laughs) Oh, Ras. Did you forget where you got those masks from? Did you forget who created them? (She uses her magic to corrupt the Wolf Masks, turning the wolf warriors and Cinder against Ras.) And you've barely even scratched the surface of their true powers. (Ras tries to attack her, but Nokt blasts him away with shockwave. Everyone panics, and the ninja prepare to fight. The corrupted wolf warriors grow red claws from their backs.) Finish them. Every single one of them! (The corrupted wolf warriors charge.)
